    Fabulous

The room style, comfort, and view was very good, reception staff very pleasant. Had just one meal on first evening in the bar area, disappointing, so ate out for the last two evenings.

loud music in the dining area at breakfast time! A glass of wine very expensive, even for a hotel.

    Very good

Excellent location for Eden Project and nearby attractions,

Could be considered a little isolated for some people.

    Superb

The views from our room were amazing. The room was lovely and very spacious.

Could have done without the piped music in the eating areas.

    Superb

Beautiful views across Carlyon Bay and over to Charlestown greeted us each morning when we went for Breakfast, and was quick and easy to get to the buzzy Charlestown via a footpath.

Was a little difficult to walk to St Austell due to lack of footpath on Sea Road. Would have liked breakfast to continue being served just a little later - it finishes at 9:15.

    Very good

Very nice hotel, location was lovely, and room very nice. Food also very good.

We were talking to other guests in the lounge area one night, the bar was closed, the door locked and the lights were turned out. We were, in effect given the impression our presence was no longer acceptable, it was 11pm. I understand it was a weeknight (Thurs) and staff do have to sleep too. But as this was our holiday and we were enjoying our chat with other guests, we thought this was very poor service and in fact quite rude. Otherwise we had a lovely stay and will not hesitate to recommend to friends... providing they don't mind being sent to bed by 11pm. :)

    Superb

I don't think the website does the hotel justice at all. As when we arrived we were pleasantly suprised that the hotel was a lot more up market than it seemed when we looked at the photos on the website. Excellent location and views. Staff very helpful and friendly. Would definately stay again.

The views freom the front of the hotel were spectaclur, however we were booked in the rooms at the back of the hotel and the view was nothing other then descusting I have taken photoes to foward on to the hotel and intend to e-mail them to the manager, I Knew we diddnt have a sea view when we booked but we expect the same standard of cleansinest as the front of the hotel .the rooms were also musty with cobwebs hanging from the cealing wich I have also photographed I would not recomend this hotel other then for its views from the front.

    Good

The location is superb and we have now stayed there 4 times. Breakfast is freshly cooked to order and very tasty, although it finishes quite early for those wanting to relax. There is an evening a la carte restaurant menu which we have had before and, from memory, was very nice, but this time we ate from the brasserie menu in the bar and it was really good and a lot cheaper. The bar and restaurant overlook the sea and there are plenty of secluded seating areas to take advantage of the views. The lady who seems to run the hotel, whose name we don't remember, is marvellous, really friendly and very helpful!! There are plenty of walks directly from the hotel, which is on the coast path and is well used. Good bed.

To fully appreciate the best of the hotel, you really should be in rooms 3, 5, 6 or 16. they are in the oldest part of the house, are large and very comfortable - room 16 is a recently redesigned suite at the top of the house, which we haven't stayed in, but we have been shown around and it looks excellent. The rooms we stayed in for the last 2 visits were much smaller, the sound proofing between rooms is very poor and overlook the car park (then the sea). They are in the extended part of the hotel and are described as luxury rooms, which we don't agree with. To ensure the best rooms, we were advised to phone to request a specific room. We have decided we won't stay again unless we can have one of these rooms, as value for money and a good night's sleep are too important. We would recommend the hotel with these provisos.

    Superb

Accomodation good, room comfortable and well equiped. Liked free wifi, although not secure connection, could be secured with residents given pass code. benefitted from having both bar and lounge areas and different meal options. Views from seafront rooms over bay outstanding, just a pity the weather at the end of June didnt live up to expectations and on awaking one morning all we could see was fog! We found staff friendly and attentive.

Only critisim of our room was difficulty plugging in the kettle, lead not long enough for availble sockets. The adverts could make the dining options clearer, ie table d'ote menu in resturant or option of bistro menu, and pricing options could be a little clearer. I'm sure many residents would appreciate breakfasts being served upto 30 mins later. We were also dissapointed that due to a wedding reception the last booking for the resturant was 8.00pm on the Saturday night.

    Exceptional

We stayed in a sea view room and the views were amazing, very relaxing and quiet, breakfasts were brilliant.

No complaints about Hotel but the walk into Charlestown along the cliff path was quite strenuous, so would not recomend that walk for some one who wasnt fit.
